also, didn’t notice on first viewing, but this episode shows that sonny approaches streetwork from the perspective of a war vet and not from the perspective of a cop, as the others do
trudy is rightfully grappling with the moral quandary of killing a civilian in self-defense. sonny however bears no moral conflict because his mentality is military-trained. he doesn’t see “the bad guys” as civilians, he sees the enemy
